For those seeking a smile with their morning coffee.
I totally understand the need for something ironic or funny to help the caffeine kick in and get you going. I can offer maybe a smile, depending on your level of cynicism and the amount of social sludge left over from last nights evening news. Every year about this time I find a few moments to remember a little place called Ryther Child Center. I spent a year and a half there some 25+ years ago. They saved my life. I do a little searching and see whats going on and if I can help in some small way during the holidays (I found this and others like it amongst the usual news) I'm sure my kids are glad for that as are hundreds of thousands of other former residents. As dark sounding as the statement is (and Lee Grogg gets that way sometimes...after seeing the reality of abuse day in, day out it's hard not too) I am here to say It's not all about the negative, in fact there are more smiles and laughs and happy ever afters attached to Ryther Child Center after 124 years then you can imagine. Ironic ? wouldn't it be ironic if a former resident is your kids 4th grade teacher? or your Psychiatrist or even Barista? As to why Starbucks made the choice...it's not political, and I don't think they were really trying to be social advisers, it's most likely geographical. They are both Seattle based. They give a lot back to the community that helped them start out. Personally I agree with Lee's statement on some levels but I also agree with bloggers...it has way too much of a political-social stench for 6am caffeine addictions. I prefer to think about the incredible positives that have come from many many peoples lives and organizations. In the end think of it this way, a penny or two from that double tall mocha low fat half soy and breakfast cookie might be making a seriously real difference with every cup...even if you don't know about it and don't give a shit :) So forgive Starbucks trivial attempts at giving you a headache. Smiling? A little? Okay fine then just think of red-assed Baboons (makes my 10 year old giggle every time). If you still can't crack a smile go spend a day playing video games with the kids in Ryther's Cottage A...you will smile and laugh till your cheeks hurt...that ought to hold you for a few hours, or until the next caffeine fix.

I dont know what I just saw. I dont remember when this was or what was going on. And I feel like the fabulousness of She Wants Revenge overshadows the oddness of everything in between, so maybe that is why I dont know what that was about.

I think it is very borderline. The facial hair almost makes his lips look not as hot as usual, but I can handle it because he is so fucking sexy! And seriously Perez doenst have any room to talk because his attempt was so horrendous!

I think that I have actually seen a group against masturbation on facebook before. And I think it was serious. But still malnutrition of who? Do you really have to be in a group against malnutrition? I guess malnutrition is bad and all but isn't that a bit obvious?

I don't think we have any real readers. I think it's all just people who were looking for "redhead freaks" and "amy winehouse tattoos." Instead they get us! Lucky them!!
